Import Services has won a contract with Voyager Systems.  Import Services will provide inbound shipping, processing and distribution services throughout the UK & Europe.

Ceva Logistics has won contracts with the FIAT Group.  Ceva Logistics will manage the warehousing and distribution of spare parts for dealers that distribute Chrysler Group LLC brands with operations located in Vatry, France and Bielsko-Biala, Poland.  The operations will manage warehousing and through-the-night deliveries to over 740 dealers across Europe.  From the Bielsko-Biala and Vantry distribution centres, Ceva will handle the distribution of spare parts and accesories in Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, France, Belgium and The Netherlands as well as reverse logistics activities and waste management.

DSV has reported its financial results for the first 9 months of 2011.  It reports revenue growth of 4.2%, mainly attributed to its Road division.  The company's total revenues reached DKK 32,787 million compared with DKK 31,451 million in the same period in 2010.

Northern Ireland transport haulier, Woodside Group has acquired AllRoute Shipping in a bid to move into the international Freight Forwarding sector.

Wincanton has renewed its contract with Muller for a further 3 years.  Wincanton collects 230 million litres of milk from over 150 farms and delivers it into Muller Dairy's plant in Market Drayton, Shropshire.

Gefco has reported its financial results for Q3.  It reports revenues totalling €850 million, up 7.1% reflecting a 3.4% rise in revenues from other PSA Peugeot Citroen Group companies, as well as a 13.2% increase in business from customers outside the group.

The Potter Group has reported its financial results.  It reports pre-tax profits up 29% to £816,886 (£632,027) in the year ended 30th April 2011 despite turnover remaining effectively flat year-on-year at £14.7 million.

  • The Transport & Logistics business reported satisfactory organic growth and positive impace following the integration of TDG

Stobart Group has blamd the weakness of the economy for holding back profits growth in the first half - particularly in its Transport & Distribution business.  Underlying EBITDA was up 2.6% to £27.6 million while sales rose 15.3% to £281.1 million.

DHL Global Forwarding have launched a temperature controlled service moving small quantities of speciality foods from Europe to markets around the world.  Every week the goods are transported by ocean freight from Hamburg to Singapore to be further distributed from there.

Wincanton has been providing truckloads of water for the cast and crew of a new Hollywood film, Snow White and the Huntsman, during filming at Marloes Sands (near Milford Haven).  Wincanton has also provided water for Ridley Scotts' Robin Hood film, shot in Pembrokeshire.

Bedfords Transport has won a contract with Kelkay.  Bedfords Transport will carry out a national pallet network for the transport and delivery of garden landscape products to garden centres, DIY outlets and homes across the UK on a next day or 3 days basis.

Tibbett Logistics have signed a new 5 year contract to extend operations at the Europolis Park (West Bucharest).  

Kuehne & Nagel has entered into an agreement to acquire Carl Drude GmbH & Co. KG.  This is in line with Kuehne & Nagel's strategy to further expand its European overland network and to establish a European hub and spoke system.

Culina Logistics has appointed Euan Jackson to the position of Group Transport Director from 1st December 2012.  Euan joins from Samworth Bros Distribution where he was Interim Managing Director.

Yusen Logistics has renewed and extended its contract with Kingfisher for the management of its European import supply chain.  Adding to the existing contract's origin points in North & South China, the new contract will also pick up locations in South East Asia and Europe.  Deliveries are made to the home improvements retailer's operations in the UK, France & Poland.  Yusen will also provide inbound logistics management, carrier management for sea freight consignments, documentation management and logistics support.

Yodel has announced plans to restructure its network and complete a move to a single operating platform.  Yodel is proposing to close 45 service centres across the UK.

DHL Supply Chain has won a 5 year contract with the Cambridge University Press starting December 2011.  The contract is for the delivery of books across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.  DHL Supply Chain's responsibilities include receiving, storing, quality control and order fulfillment of books for transport from the shared-user facility in Rushden, Northamptonshire.

Potter Group has won a 5 year contract with johnson Matthey.  The contract is for 50,000 sqft storage at the Group's distribution centre in Ripon.

Kuehne & Nagel has won a 3.5 year contract with Danone in Poland.  Kuehne & Nagel provides temperature controlled warehousing and co-packing logistics services using a 13,000 sqm facility in Swiecice (near Warsaw) and 4,000 sqm at Chorzow.

Ceva Logistics has renewed a contract with Continental Italy for a further 3 years.  Ceva takes charge of logistics activities for tyres managing the loading and unloading of bulk products from vehicles, the handling and storage in specialist metal cages provided by the customer, as well as picking, shipment and distribution of items using Ceva's network nationwide.  Ceva will dedicate 24,000 sqm to the customer within its warehouse in Somaglia (near Lodi), handling approximately 2 million outgoing pieces per year.  Ceva will also provide 2 services; 'Same day' and 'Pitstop'.

Seafield Logistics has won a contract with Saga Shipping Company.  Seafield will carry out a warehousing and distribution contract to support the consolidation of products for a cruise ship re-fitment based in Italy.  The products will be stored at Aylesham depot before being distributed to Italy.

Meachers Global Logistics has appointed Stuart Terris as Managing Director replacing Bob Terris who will move into the role of Chairman.

Movianto is building a new warehouse in Netherlands for storing deep frozen pharmaceutical products which will be operational in April 2012.

DHL Supply Chain has won a contract with Ford Motor Company for the distribution of spare parts in Nordic and Baltic States.  DHL Supply Chain will handle around 23,000 different spare parts from the distribution centre in Orebro in Central Sweden.  Stock orders are shipped next day or day after.  Emergency orders are shipped overnight or next morning.  Some of Ford's workshops in the Stockholm area use the Orebro warehouse as a local distribution centre.

Norbert Dentressangle has won a contract with Delice de France.  Norbert Dentressangle provides 3,500 pallet spaces in its shared-user cold store in Nuneaton and is responsible for the receipt of product from Delice de France's manufacturing facility in the UK, Ireland and the USA and the picking of orders for delivery to Delice de France's own fleet to customers throughout the UK.

Caterpillar has been meeting potential buyers for its 3pl business but has still not decided whether to sell it or keep it as an independent business within the Group.

Cert Octavian has appointed Vincent O'Brien as Managing Director to replace Anthony Finlayson-Green who is leaving the business to pursue new challenges.

Bidvest Logistics has won a national distribution contract with Tragus.  Bidvest operates Tragus' network from 2 RDC's in Banbury and Oldham.  The round the clock logistics operation involves the delivery of over 4 million cases every year on a day one for day three basis.  Bidvest also holds selected stock, makes next day deliveries, manages the web catalogue, receives electronic orders from restaurants, places orders with suppliers and manages order picking and delivery to restaurants.

P&O Ferrymasters has extended its freight management contract with Libbey Leerdam.  This contract will add almost 2,000 loads per year moved from Libbey's Leerdam factory (Netherlands) to the warehouse in Gorinchem (Italy).

Dachser has invested €10 million in a site near Clermont Ferrand (France) which will be the 3rd of the 'eurohubs' around which it is building its European network.

City Sprint has won a contract with ASOS.  The contract is for the provision of 'twilight' deliveries across the UK.

Ontime Automotive has won a 3 year contract with BMW.  Ontime Automotive will deliver cars to fleet and corporate customers across the UK.

Ceva Logistics has won a 1 year warehousing and distribution contract with Samsung.  Ceva Logistics will organise the pickup of return devices across Switzerland and bring around 100-200 devices each week to the Arlesheim facility (near Basel).  Ceva will then carry out quality control activities to establish if the items can be repaired or need to be replaced.  The majority of items will then be stored in its warehouse ahead of being re-sold to buyers worldwide.

Century Logistics has won a warehousing and distribution contract with Fragrances & Toiletries International (FTI).  Products are sourced mainly from Europe and Asia and distribution is carried out throughout the UK and to over 50 countries worldwide.  The stock is stored in Century Logistics' 37,160sqm warehouse in Thetford (East Anglia).  Also, Century Logistics will carry out some reworking and repacking of product.

Cranleigh Freight Services has won a 3 year contract with Virgin Atlantic Cargo.  Cranleigh will provide daily air cargo road services to Amsterdam from London Gatwick and Heathrow.

DB Schenker has won a 2 year contract with Stannah Stairlifts.  DB Schenker will make deliveries from the UK and Czech Republic to Germany, Belgium, France, Poland and The Netherlands.  Daily movements will go out from Stannah's headquarters in Andover and the account will be controlled locally through DB Schenker's Bournemouth branch.

Widdowson Group has won a 3 year contract with Halspan.  Widdowson is the main UK haulier and provides storage of products every month.

Yusen Logistics has won a contract with ProStraken.  Yusen Logistics will provide airfreight and temperature controlled shipping as well as pan-European road transport.  The European operation involves the temperature-controlled distribution of product from ProStraken's manufacturing plants to delivery points throughout Europe by means of Yusen Logistics' unique Pharmaceuticals Superhighway.

DB Schenker has appointed Diederick de Vroet to the position of Head of Global Ocean Freight.

Rhenus Logistics has opened a 21,000 sqm facility in Weil am Rhein.

NFT is opening a new 8,360 sqm (of which 6,500 sqm is chilled) depot in Middleton, Greater Manchester. 

City Link's Mark Tapper (Operations Director) has resigned to pursue other business interests.

Taylors of Harrogate has signed a 7,000 sqm logistics facility at St james Business Park, Knaresborough.

Rhys Davies Freight Logistics has won a contract with Esselte.  Rhys Davies will deliver products to wholesale customers and dealers throughout the UK & Ireland.
