May 201031st May 2010 Ceva Logistics has extended its delivery and installation contract with Ricoh. Ceva Logistics maintains responsibility for providing a 2 tier service from Ricoh's distribution centre in Wellingborough. The operation involves scheduled 48 hour distribution of office equipment to dealers and order fulfillment to end user, which includes installation of machinery at customers premises and the demonstration of machinery functions. Kuehne & Nagel has won a contract with Mobile Telesytems OJSC (MTS) (the largest mobile phone operator in Russia and CIS) as the main supplier for airfreight import and export as well as road transport services. Kuehne & Nagel services include airfreight import activities from around 40 origins in countries such as Canada, Mexico, Germany, The Netherlands, Hungary and CIS to Moscow. Kuehne & Nagel also manages the delivery by trucks from foreign countries including CIS to Moscow. DHL Supply Chain has launched a procurement outsourcing service designed to help publis and private sector organisations achieve cost savings through sourcing of product and services. Home Delivery Network has changed its name to Yodel. 24th May 2010 Multipart has won a contract with Molson Coors to provide parts supply and logistics support to its customer technical services operation which is responsible for the supply, installation, repair and maintenance of drinks dispense equipment. As a result, Multipart has created a new division, Drinksflow. The services provided include inventory planning and control, procurement, order processing and electronic parts cataloguing, warehousing and associated customer services. Also, Drinksflow will manage deliveries and collections from Multipart's NDC in Chorley to Molson Coors technical representatives and their sub-contractors. Wincanton has completed the roll-out of Manhattan's WMS and Supply Chain intelligence system for its clients 'Isover' and 'Supra', the first that Wincanton has completed in France. Charlotte Russell, General Manager for Gist People Services has been named Industry Trainer of the Year. Kuehne & Nagel has won a contract with Rehau in the Middle East and Eastern Europe for the provision of road logistics. Kuehne & Nagel will manage full-truck loads and less-than-truck loads transporting all product lines from Rehau plants in Poland, France, Germany and Austria to Rehau's warehouse in Zagreb, Croatia. The types of goods being transported are PVC profiles for windows and doors, heating systems and other building products. Delamode Logistics has extended its contract with a Romanian Hypermarket retailer. The contract is a 3 year extension for multi-channel temperature warehousing and distribution. Ceva Logistics has increased its pre-tax profits by 73% in Q1 2010, driven by rising sales across the group and improved margins in the contract logistics division. EBITDA rose to €52 million (€30 million Q1 2009) on sales up 14.3% to €1.49 billion. TDG's Mike Branigan outlines TDG's focus; FMCG is the largest sector for TDG followed by Chemicals. The Stobart Group have secured new contracts worth +£50 million per year, launched a weekly 'fresh' train service from Valencia to the UK and has completed on time and on budget phase 1 of the Widnes development and subsequent disposal for £61 million and the leaseback of the adjoining terminal. Kuehne & Nagel has won a contract with Boehringer Ingelheim Pharma. The contract is for the management of its temperature controlled road transportation of thermolabile medical products to the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Greece and Croatia. Ceva Logistics has won a contract with Ideal Standard. The contract is for managing Ideal Standard's logistics out of Edwards' Logistics Rugeley (Staffs) site. This contract therefore means that Ceva Logistics will acquire Edwards Logistics as part of the deal in the UK. Oakland Distribution has joined with The Dairy Board to offer a consolidation service which allows the independent UK foodservice wholesale and cash & carry sector access to dairy products, that they currently have difficulty obtaining due to minimum order restrictions from suppliers. Aramex is targeting freight forwarders in the UK & Ireland with a specialist road freight service to and from Scandinavia, Finalnd, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. 6th May 2010 Culina has won a contract with Milk Link (farmer owned dairy business). Culina will will collect over 400 finished produce lines from Milk Link's sites (Cheese and butter at Oswestry cheese packing facility, Lockerbie cremery, Tuxford and Tebbutt creamery, Reece's creamery and Llandyrnog cremery and also milk-finished goods at Crediton) and they will be stored at Culina's depots in Bristol and Stafford with picked orders subsequently being delivered to retailers, food processors and food service organisations across the UK. DSV expects to grow up to 7% in 2010. Deutsche Post DHL is aiming to grow DHL (logistics and express parcels) and a switch away from its doemstic mail business. DHL Supply Chain has won a contract with Diageo with effect from 1st July 2010. The contract will move away from TDG. DHL Supply Chain will take over the transport and warehousing operations at the Guiness sites in Avonmouth, Mossend and Runcorn. Dachser is looking to buy another 4/5 transport firms over the next 5 years as it looks to aggressively expand its UK presence. Nick Lowe (Managing Director) says "We are looking for companies that are stong in their own right in the UK market. We want them to be pallet network members and be able to handle the type of freight that we have and integrate into our UK and European network. Bibby Distribution acquires Tay Group. The deal raises Bibby Distribution's annual turnover by around 10% and adds 300 road assets to the existing fleet as well as expanding its operating footprint by 4 sites to a total of 62 locations. |
