This joint venture has been set up to bid for contracts to manage prisoner escort services on behalf of the Ministry of Justice. Tesco has appointed Philip Clarke to the role of Chief Executive Officer in March 2011. Norbert Dentressangle has won a 5 year contract with Hain Frozen Foods. Norbert Debtressangle collects frozen ready meals and desserts from Hains's factory in Fakenham and provides storage for up to 2,500 pallets at its cold store at Easton (Lincs). Norbert Dentressangle delivers around 400 pallets per week into major multiple retailers' distribution networks and also stores and delivers raw materials into Hain's manufacturing facility. Kuehne & Nagel has won a 2 year warehousing and distribution contract in Spain and is the exclusive logistics provider for Moet Hennessy (LVMH). Kuehne & Nagel will consolidate all of the company's logistics activities in Madrid. DHL is targeting the public sector food buying market arguing that a more collaborative approach run by the private sector could save them £100 million. Molson Coors has appointed Lee Finney as its new Supply Chain Director. Tradeteam has extended its contract with Molson Coors. The contract is for secondary distribution covering Northern Ireland. Tradeteam will deliver products to some 350 on and off trade outlets from its 65,000 sqft distribution facility in Culcavy. Suttons Logistics hs appointed Ian Atkinson as its new Group Finance Director. Waitrose has appointed Mark Williamson as its new Commercial Director. Mark was previously the Supply Chain Director for the business. Menlo Worldwide Logistics has won a contract with Triumph International to manage its Swindon distribution centre on a shared-user basis. Wincanton has appointed Jon Kempster as its new Group Finance Director, replacing Gerrard Connell. Yodel has won a contract with La Senza to deliver more than 400,000 parcels per year to customers buying products via its website. The delivery options are next day, 48 hour, 72 hour, Saturday and Timed services. Ceva Logistics has won a 3 year contract with BMW Italia. Ceva Logistics will run BMW & MINI parts operations at its new Dealer Metro distribution centre which supports dealers in Lombardy and Piedmont. Ceva logistics will carry out up to 3 shipments to each dealer per day. Ceva Logistics has won a 3 year contract with Safosa (cosmetics company). Ceva Logistics will manage product lines and the operation of warehousing activities of raw materials, components and inished products. Ceva Logistics has been contracted to manage operations for Safosa at 3 logistics sites based in Gaggiano (nr Milan) and it will move 84,000 pallets per year. Ceva Logistics has won a 1 year £3.3 million distribution contract throughout Turkey with Dogus Cay. Ceva Logistics will collect the goods including tea, sugar and sauces from the company's factories in Ordu, Gebze, Esklsehr and Odemis daily and transports them to retailers and distributors. Ceva Logistics will move approximately 10,500 truckloads across Turkey per year. Ceva Logistics has won a 5 year €50 million contract with AKI (DIY retailer). Ceva Logistics will manage AKI's end-to-end supply chain across Spain and it includes the management of its consolidation centre for all products to be sold at AKI's stores. Ceva Logistics will initially dedicate 30,000 sqm of space at Ceva Logistics' facility in Ontigola (South Madrid) with the ability to grow to 50,000 sqm. Also it will deliver freight management services and handle all inbound product flows from the Far East to the Valencia port, which includes lighting, decoration, painting, plumbing, and the construction of equipment and furniture items. Ceva logistics also manages the distribution of products to 35 stores that AKI own in Spain, managing appoximately 9.6 million units of product per year with the possibility of reaching 18 million by the end of the 5 year contract. DHL Supply Chain has won a 5 year £17 million contract with British Gas for the management of the supply chain for the installation and maintenance of over 16 million smart meters for its 12 million customers. DHL Supply Chain will use a regional network to manage meter assets including smart meters, in-house displays and associated ancillary items from British Gas' national warehouse to DHL Supply Chain's national distribution network of collection points. DHL Supply Chain will also manage returned meters from collection points to the relavant asset owners. Culina Logistics has won a contract with First Milk to provide UK wide warehousing and distribution for dairy products. Culina Logistics will collect packed cheese from First Milk's site in Mailor (nr Wrexham). Goods will then be warehoused at Culina Logistics' depot in Stafford with picked orders subsequently being delivered to food retailers, food processors and food service organisations across the UK. Norbert Dentressangle has won a seasonal contract with Argos for the storage of around 180 pallets of bottled propane and butane gas. Gefco has announced that it has partnered with Belgian telecoms provider Belgacom to renew its fleet of 1,750 vehicles. Gefco will take delivery of the new vehicles, make interior conversions, ensure vehicle compliance, fit logos, install GPS systems and handle final preparations. Gefco's non workshop tasks will include vehicle registration and roadworthy tests, the production of wallets for vehicle papers and reception by Belgacom. Gefco is extending its logistics network in Turkey with the opening of a new warehouse in Ankara (Anatolia). DB Schenker has now integrated its road and rail transportation services in the Czech Republic with the establishment of a new logistics centre in Brno. Kuehne & Nagel has won a new contract with Unilever's home and personal care product range in Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia and Moldova. Kuehne & Nagel will operate a purpose built warehouse near Bucharest. After receiving the stock from Unilever's manufacturing plants across Europe, Kuehne & Nagel will store and handle goods and provide a range of value added functions. Geodis Logistics has been awarded a contract with Parrot (wireless peripherals for mobile telephony) for stock management, equipment customisation and reverse logistics. |
