Norbert Dentressangle wins a contract with NICOLAS (French fine wines specialist).  From the main NICOLAS warehouse in Paris, Norbert Dentressangle makes over 3,000 collections per year of pre-assembled orders, which are packed into roll cages.  The loads are delivered into the specialist services depot in Rochester where they are consolidated into full trailer deliveries.  Norbert Dentressangle delivers to NICOLAS outlets using a 2-man team.  Following the delivery, the empty roll cages are collected, consolidated into full trailer loads at Rochester and transported to Paris on the return leg.

London City Bond wins a contract with Fortnum & Mason to store fine wines at its Vinotheque facility in Staffordshire.

Trans Ocean wins a 3 year contract to import wines into the UK for Constellation Europe.  Trans Ocean will transport bulk and cased wines from Europe and the New World into Constellation's wine facility in Avonmouth.  Trans Ocean delivers 8.96 million bottles per week using Vinbulk flexitanks.

Wincanton has renewed its 2 year £13 million contract with Shell Gas UK.  The contract is for bulk tanker distribution of aerosol propellants and LPG.  The bulk tanker fleet predominantly loads from Shell Gas terminals at Stanlow in Cheshire and Mossmorran in Fife and has a nationwide distribution network managed from 8 strategic operating centres.

Profitability has increased and the balance sheet remains healthy.  Q1 trend is confirmed in Q2.  Transport revenues increased, Q2 logistics revenues return to 2009 levels.

Panalpina has appointed Thomas Niederer as Global Head of Rail and Road in a bid to strengthen its global products with a particular focus on Europe and the Middle East.

Wincanton's Group HR Director Nigel Sullivan has resigned and will join Talk Talk Telecom later in 2010 as its Group HR Director.

Waitrose has appointed David Jones as its new Supply Chain Director.

Aramex has won a 2 year contract with the Dutch Ministry of Defence.  The contract is for the provision of ground transportation services across Europe.  Aramex handles regular movements of shipments both inbound and outbound from the Netherlands to locations across the EU, Norway, Switzerland and Turkey.  Products handled include; helicopter blades, aircraft engines and spares to supplies for internal training exercises.

P&O Ferrymasters has won a 3 year, £16.9 million contract with Kingspan Insulated Panels.  The contract is for exporting around 6,000 loads per year from the UK to mainland Europe and the Republic of Ireland.

Downton has won a 5 year, £25 million contract with Magners for warehousing and distribution of products from the Avonmouth hub.

DSV has won a 3 year, £42 million contract with Molnlycke Healthcare to distribute healthcare products into 14 countries and provide a tailored linehaul set-up.

In the first half of 2010, the Kuehne & Nagel Group achieved its ambitious goal of gaining market share in all business units while demonstrating strong profitability.

M&S opens a new 1.1 million sqft distribution centre in Prologis Park Bradford.  This is the largest warehouse in the M&S network.  It will serve all M&S stores with furniture products and store equipment and in 2011 ambient food.

Stobart Group has submitted plans for a 235,000 sqft warehouse in Peterborough.  The facility will be both chilled and ambient.

Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has opened a new warehouse in Beylikduzu, Istanbul, Turkey.

United Biscuits is to go up for sale in the Autumn 2010 and will conclude early 2011.  The 2 private equity firms that own the business are looking to attract ofers of +£2bn.

Reckitt Benckiser has bought SSL for £2.54bn.  Reckitt's Chief Executive said the deal should increase the division's net revenues by +36% to around £2.8bn, one third of the group's total revenues.

Ceva Logistics appoints Carlo Rosa as Managing Director for Italy.  Carlo will be responsible for developing Ceva Logistics operations Excellence Programme in Italy.

DB Schenker is re-grouping its management functions in Frankfurt am Main, consolidating corporate unit management teams currently located in Berlin, Mainz and Essen at the new location.  This new headquarters will accomodate members of the management board and staff in Berlin, members of the European management of DB Schenker Rail GmbH in Mainz and members of DB Schenker Logistics' management in Essen.

Arvato Services Healthcare is taking on German company Epigenomics AG's global logistics.  Arvato will distribute a wide range of products for the molecular diagnostics company from its base in Monheim to laboratories and scientific institutions.  Also, Arvato will provide packaging, in and outbound transport, storage logistics services and refrigerated logistics.

Suttons Group has won a 3 year contract with Grace Construction.  Suttons will distribute bulk liquids and store packed consignments.

Norbert Dentressangle has won a frozen foods contract with Ultra Ice UK.  Norbert Dentressangle makes daily collections from Ultra Ice's manufacturing facility and provides storage at its main networked temperature controlled distribution centre at Easton (Lincolnshire).  Through its temperature controlled shared-user network, Norbert Dentressangle is also responsible for delivering product into major retailers' distribution networks.

Culina Logistics has extended its warehousing and distribution contract with Kraft Foods.  Culina processes orders and manages stock movements at its depots, before distributing orders to Kraft's UK distribution centre.

CI Logistics has won a materials handling contract with Diageo.

Geodis Wilson has appointed Alain Chimene as Regional Vice President EMEA.  Alain's key priority will be the development of the business at a rate that outpaces market growth while balancing that with cost conscious improvements in productivity.

Norbert Dentressangle has extended its contract with EMO Oil for a further 2 years.  Norbert Dentressangle stores and pick packs from its warehouse in Northampton.  Palletised orders are distributed through its shared-user operation while a nominated parcel carrier ships small consignments.  Also, it despatches packed fuels to companies using plant machinery and bulk delveries of automotive engine oil to garages and service stations.  The contract also includes reverse logitics.  Around 12,500 next day deliveries are made per year.

Ceva Logistics has won a 3 year €30 million contract with Triumph Motorcycles.  Ceva will streamline, integrate and optimise their international logistics flows of components, accessories and finished motorcycles.  Ceva will also handle ocean shipments of motorcycles and the movement of components from suppliers in Asia and Europe to Triumph's global manuacturing network.  The key to the successful partnership will be Ceva's Ocean Plus Solution.

Widdowson Group has won a contract with Boots.  Widdowson is to pack 2 Christmas gift ranges at its contract packing facility; one haircare and one toiletry.

Ceva Logistics has acquired Italian Pharmaceutical firm DIMAF.  DIMAF manages the supply chain of around 30 pharmaceutical companies including multinationals.  The company has 3 temperature controlled warehouses in Lombardy and Lazio.

ByBox has launched Blackstripe, a service which enables field service engineers to return spare parts.  ByBox software platform 'Thinventory' is being used to enable field service engineers to return spare or broken parts either to the warehouse, back for repair, or if under warranty, to original manufacturer for inspection.

Oakland International has won a contract with Giovanni Rana (fresh pasta producer) to distribute pasta products to a major Irish retailer.  Oakland manages the transportation, storage, labelling and forward distribution of more than 60,000 cases of pasta products in the first year of the contract.  Oakland operates from its 30,000 sqft distribution centre in Ashbourne (nr Dublin), which has ambient and chilled storage facilities.

Wim Bosman SRL has won a 3 year contract with Procter & Gamble to provide integrated supply chain services in Eastern Romania.  Wim Bosman operates a distribution centre in Urlati and also manages warehousing of finished products and shuttling services to and from the production plant. 

Ceva Logistics has won a 5 year contract with Janssen Phamaceutical (part of Johnson & Johnson) to provide warehousing services at Janssen's site in La Loviere.  The 323,000 sqft warehoue stores 4,000 pharmaceutical products, both human and veterinary which will be distributed to customers across Europe and the World.

Suttons has appointed Gareth Jones as its new Business Unit Manager - Food.

Audi has chosen Wincanton to implement its interactive sales support tool, the Audi configurator, across retail stores in Germany.  Wincanton is responsible for the entire supply chain project including transport planning and delivery of different modules to an initial 500 showrooms.

Nightfreight has appointed Ian Smith as its new Chief Operating Officer and Board member.  Ian was previously at NYK Logistics, Exel Logistics and Tibbett & Britten.  Ian will be responsible for contract logistics operations and the 'white glove' specialist handling service 'Pacemaker'.  Nightfreight has ambitious growth plans for the next 5 years.

Ceva Logistics has won a 3 year contract with Renault.  Ceva Logistics will manage operations in Renault's factories located in Valledoid and Palencia.  Ceva Logistics will also manage inbound and outbound maritime flows of spare parts and car components from Valledoid and Palencia to customers in South America, Middle East, Asia and Africa.

3P Logistics has won an e-fulfillment warehousing and distribution contract with Ladderstone.

Dachser expands into the Polish air and sea freight market.

Norbert Dentressangle secures new business with vegetable suppliers Barfoots and Sandfields and freight forwarders Morgan Air and Jones Dooly.  This new business is operated out of Norbert Dentressangle's handling centre at Heathrow airport.

Widdowson Group has won a 12 month rolling contract with LINPAC Storage Systems.   Widdowson Group will transport LINPAC's Apex pallet racking, shelving and related accessory products to their customer network throughout the UK.

Seafield Logistics has won a warehousing and distribution contract with Tommy Tucker.  Seafield Logistics wil store pallets of finished confectionery at the Worksop warehouse and will receive, store, pick and pack confectionery and distribute them to Odeon & Vue cinemas nationwide.  It will deliver around 150 loads per week across the UK using dedicated vehicles from the Worksop site.  London cinemas will be served from the Aylesham depot.  It will also receive 2 bulk deliveries per week of popping corn from the USA in containers which is then transported to production sites in Worksop and Retford.

Bibby Distribution has successfully made the finals of 2 prestigious industry awards for its work with long-standing customer Toyota.  The project which has seen Bibby successfully implementing a national same day delivery service for auto parts to 260 Toyota and Lexus service centres has been recognised by the CILT and UKWA awards for its integrated approach to supporting its customers in delivering customer service excellence.

Kuehne & Nagel  opened a new distribution centre in Sauriesi (Riga) which is designed to serve as the central hub for Kuehne & Nagel's logistics activities in the Baltic region.

Yodel has won a 3 year contract with JP Boden & Co (online fashion retailer).
