Gist has won a contract with Spring Valley.  Gist will manage the international inbound supply chain of temperature controlled prepared fruit into the UK from South Africa into Gist's chilled transport and warehouse network for delivery into retail stores.

Nightfreight has won a 2 year contract with Bosal UK (exhaust & towbar manufacturer).  Nightfreight will manage all outbound delivery of Bosal's full product range from its Preston site to its aftermarket customers UK wide.  Nightfreight will provide a nationwide 6 day, next day delivery service, as part of its national shared-user network of 53 depots.

DHL Supply Chain has agreed a partnership deal with DEX (supply chain solutions provider) to provide end-to-end technical services for service parts, finished goods and parts management to new and existing customers across all sectors.  This partnership will give DHL Supply Chain the ability to offer product configuration, screening, repair and returns process.

Geodis Wilson has appointed Peter Baumann as its new Global Director Automotive.  He will be responsible for developing and expanding the company's automotive logistics business worldwide.  Peter's appointment supports Geodis' global strategy by enhancing its logistics activities in the Automotive, Pharmaceuticals and High-Tech sectors.

Ceva Logistics has won a 3 year, €6 million distribution contract with Mazda in the UK.  The contract is for the management of Mazda's nationwide distribution of aftermarket vehicle parts.  The parts will be delivered from Mazda's NDC at Staplehurst, Kent via Ceva's shared-user automotive network through the night to 140 UK locations for over 180 dealerships, 5 nights per week.

Kuehne & Nagel has won a contract with Rehau.  Kuehne & Nagel will provide assembly and packaging of spare parts and then warehousing of them to be available on demand for car manufacturers.

Import Services has won a distribution contract with Alpha Animation & Toys.  Import Services will distribute Alpha's products to the UK market by providing inbound transport, customs clearance, storage, high volume order processing, pre-retailing services and outbound distribution to Alpha's UK customers.

Wincanton has renewed its contract with Saint Gobain.  The contract is worth £7 million over 3 years and Wincanton is responsible for distributing products for the UK water industry.  Wincanton uses preferred sub-contractors for all long distance product movements and utilises its in-house fleet for trunking operations.  A new consolidation centre in West Thurrock will compliment Wincanton's Ilkeston site and improve service to Saint Gobain's customer base in the South East.

Panalpina has won a contract with Toshiba.  Panalpina will handle Toshiba's overland business from its Regensburg distribution centre in Germany to Moscow.  The contract covers international trunking and customs clearance as well as local cross-docking and distribution services.  Freight volumes are around 200 trucks from Regensburg with cross-docking activities for 11,000 pallets including local distribution to over 10 locations within Russia.

Norbert Dentressangle has won a contract with WL Duffield (animal feed manufacturer).  Norbert Dentressangle will make daily collections of palletised products from Duffield's mill in Saxlingham and a storage depot in Bury St Edmunds before consolidating loads at its nearby site in Ipswich.  Next day deliveries are made to customer locations via its shared-user network.

Tesco has awarded Gazeley a £20 million contract to build a bespoke e-commerce distribution centre in Enfield, North london.  This will be a combined home delivery and express logistics centre serving customers across North london and the Home Counties.

Kuehne & Nagel is to significantly expand its European overland network.  By 2014 the number of scheduled international lines will have increased from 300-500 with departure frequency doubling to 2,000 per week.

NYK Logistics will be adopting a new brand called 'Yusen Logistics' on the 1st April 2011.

Gist has won a contract with Waitrose for components of their primary transport operations.  Gist will collect 400 pallets per week from Scottish based Waitrose suppliers for consolidation and onward movement from its Bellshill depot.

Wincanton has renewed its contract with Miller Brands for its UK warehousing and distribution for a further 3 years worth £12 million.  Wincanton stores and distributes over 1 million hectolitres per year of imported premium-branded keg and bottled lagers to wholesalers, retailers and licensed outlets throughout the UK.  The operation is based out of Wincanton's distribution centre in Lutterworth (Leicestershire) and Mossend (Scotland).  Wincanton will use its national transport network to distribute Miller Brands products.

Norbert Dentressangle has won a contract extension with LG Electronics for a further 3 years.  Norbert Dentressangle is responsible for all of LG Electronics' UK warehouse and retail distribution activities.  Products are received from LG Electronics' manufacturing sites in Poland, Korea and China into Norbert Dentressangle's 28,000 sqm facility in Milton Keynes.  Norbert Dentressangle receives around 8,000 container loads of LG product per year and is responsible for complete distribution and storage, including inbound quality control and product customisation to meet specific requirements.

Norbert Dentressangle has won a 5 year contract with The Co-operative Group which will commence in March 2011.  Norbert Dentressangle will handle secondary distribution at Co-op's composite distribution centre in Andover.  Norbert Dentressangle will also provide a night service, trunking frozen product from Andover to other Co-op food RDCs.

The Co-operative Group has set out plans for a new RDC in the North Midlands but no decision has been made as to the exact location.  This RDC will replace 2 smaller depots at Alfreton and Nottingham.

Kuehne & Nagel has won a 10 year contract with Pepsico.  Kuehne & Nagel will manage warehousing and distribution operations in the Netherlands.  Also, Kuehne & Nagel will develop a new state-of-the-art multi-user FMCG campus in Utrecht.

Nightfreight has won an outbound delivery contract worth seven figures with Rapid Racking for the next 3.5 years.  Nightfreight will manage the complete outbound delivery of Rapid Racking's full product range from its Gloucestershire site to its B2B and B2C customers nationwide.  Nightfreight will operate 5 dedicated vehicles from its Risley, Southall, Willenhall and Pucklechurch sites, supported by its national 'shared-use' network of 53 depots.

Gist has won a £10 million 3 year contract with VOW.  Gist will provide transport services from Normanton, Glasgow and Seaham covering Scotland, the North East and the North West.  The Northern operation comprises of around 45 vehicles and involves around 1,000 customer deliveries per day.  The contract to operate the Northern region integrates into the wider VOW/Gist network.  This involves the daily time-sensitive delivery of office products from VOW's distribution centres in Lutterworth and Normanton to a number of regional delivery centres across the UK and onward delivery from there to VOW's customer base.

Widdowson Group has won 2 contracts: Asia UK Trading (sources foods for discount retailers) and Swiss Prime Pack (manufacturer of vending machine products).

NFT has won a contract with Sweet Port.  The contract is for making 200 deliveries per week to Asda, Budgens, Co-op, Londis and Waitrose.

UPS Healthcare Logistics is expanding its healthcare distribution network with new facilities in Asia, Canada and the USA.

ByBox has appointed Johnny Kusters as its new General Manager for Europe as it continues to expand on the continent.

Norbert Dentressangle has been awarded the best European 3pl in the Fresh Food Supply Chain category at the Eye for Transport 3pl summit.  This award was decided upon by European 3pl customers, the manufacturers and retailers who depend upon and work with logistics service providers every day.
