Trilogy Logistics has been renamed Gem Logistics following its acquisition last December.  Gem Logistics is planning to offer a high quality distribution service for DVD, Music & Games Publishers.

Gist has won a contract with Pork Farms.  The contract is for collection of 2.5 million trays of bakery products per year from Pork Farm's sites in Market Drayton, Shaftesbury and Nottingham.

Norbert Dentressangle has announced its latest results:

  • Total Group Consolidated Revenue: €2,719 million (2009), down 12.5% on 2008
  • Logistics Revenue: €1,233 million (2009), down 9.6% on 2008
  • Transport Revenue: €1,486 million, down 14.8% on 2008

Delamode Logistics has expanded its automotive logistics operation by opening a warehouse in Equest Park in Bucharest.  The operations include pre-assembly and kitting within the Delamode facility, as well as operating the factory warehouse within the client's manufacturing plant.

TDG wins a contract with Prax Petroleum.  The contract is for the storage and blending of fuels at its Dagenham terminal by a minimum of 10 years.

Wincanton has given the Managing Directors of its Construction, Containers, Defence & Aerospace, Home Delivery, Foodservice, Records Management, Recycling & Waste Management business units the task of bringing in pre-tax profits of at least £10 million eachby 2015 as part of its 5 year growth plan.

Wincanton is investing to create substantial new capacity in the foodservice sector following a major contract win which will have a 'potentially transformational impact' on its business.

Transmec has won a 2 year, £4.4 million contract with CNH Group.  The contract is for full-load movements from production plants through Italy to a number of European destinations.  Spare parts are collected from manufacturing hubs in Emilia, Southern and Central Italy for onward journeys to Basildon, UK and through Italy to France and from Emilia to Berlin.

Arvato Services Healthcare has won a contract with Genopharm (French Pharmaceutical manufacturer).  The contract is for the warehousing and distribution of the entire range across the UK, France, Belgium and Germany from national distribution centres in the UK and Benelux to hospitals within 24 hours.  It is also to be rolled-out to other European countries over the next 3 years.

Kuehne & Nagel renews its contract with Iveco.  Kuehne & Nagel manages Iveco's european aftermarket supply and 5 regional spare parts distribution centres in Turin (Italy), Langenau (Germany), Madrid (Spain), Trappes (France) and Winsford (UK).  Kuehne & Nagel's automotive distribution network distributes Iveco's entire stock through Europe, covering regions such as Ireland, Scandinavia, Benelux and Portugal amongst many others.  It also includes RFID and Pick by Voice technologies.

House of Fraser has gone live with a new inhouse fulfillment system which integrates with Metapack to manage home deliveries.

DHL Supply Chain renews its contract with Debenhams.  The 3 year, £113 million contract provides warehousing and distribution services to 157 stores across the UK & Ireland.  DHL Supply Chain operates all 3 of Debenhams UK distribution centres providing supplier collections, store deliveries, outbase and cross docking operations.  Also, it has taken over the operation of 3 off-site stock rooms.

Fortec Pallet Distribution Network  has appointed Neil Hodgson has its new Managing Director.

Clipper Logistics appoints Phil Houghton as its Business Implementation Manager.  Phil previously came from Wincanton.

Nisa-Todays appoints Jonathan Stow as its Distribution Director.

Geodis launches a new service for the beverage sector and acquires Chevallier.  Geodis' customers that produce or distribute beverages will now be offered multi-modal transportation and logistics services covering the whole supply chain with the addition of 6 more platforms dedicated to the French market.

Norbert Dentressangle has won a contract with the Highways Agency.  Norbert Dentressangle will be responsible for the storage of around 1,500 skus associated with the provision and maintenance of roadside cameras, telephones and electronic signs for the motorway network in England - from matrix signs and gantries to nuts and bolts and the distribution of these items, either to the Highways Agency regional maintenance contractors or direct to roadside projects.

Wincanton has invested £3 million in its food services infrastructure through the development of a 110,000 sqft composite distribution centre at Trafford Park (Manchester).

DB Schenker has won a 2 year contract with Goodrich Power Systems.  The contract is for its airfreight requirements to and from Canada and the USA and bespoke small parcel services.

Davies Turner has extended its overland trailer services between the UK and Poland from its RDCs in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and Dartford.

Culina and the SHS Group have launcged a supply chain option for food and drink manufacturers in Ireland under 'Culina SHS' .  It has opened a 160,000 sqft ambient and chilled warehouseon the Aerodrome Business Park, South Dublin.

Home Delivery Network has bought the UK B2B and B2C domestic parcel delivery operation of DHL.  The combined business will have revenues of more than £600 million and will deliver over 180 million parcels per year.  This is subject to approval from the Office of Fair Trading.

Norbert Dentressangle has won a 6 year contract with Italian firearms manufacturer Fabbrica d'Armi Pietro Beretta SpA.  The contract is for warehousing and distribution of branded clothing and accessories to Beretta's stores and other customers throughout Italy and Europe.

Syncreon has bought NAL Worldwide Holdings for around $35 million.  This enhances Syncreon's american operations by adding 6 facilities and an additional 550 staff in this key region for their global ambitions and expands the company's revenues to $725 million per year.
