Kuehne & Nagel has renewed its contract with SR Technics (provider of technical solutions for airlines) for a further 5 years.  Kuehne & Nagel has been working with SR Technics for the past 15 years supporting the globally operating SR Technics Group with industry specific services.

Culina Logistics has appointed Stephen Knight as its new General Manager for its stockholding facility in Market Drayton.

DSV Road has won a 3 year contract with Outokumpu (stainless steel manufacturer).  DSV will carry out distribution for Outokumpu's service centre in Willich (nr Dusseldorf) and throughout Northern Europe.

DHL Supply Chain is supporting the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra in the transportation of over 100 musical instruments, music sheets and stands, conductor's rostrum and musicians wardrobes during the orchestra's concert tours to Asia and across Europe in 2011.

UPS is supporting fashion label JENA.THEO at the London Fashion Week.  UPS is to deliver fabrics sourced in global markets such as China and Greece, to the transportation of production equipment to and from the catwalk venue.

Umeco plc has confirmed that it is continuing to pursue non-exclusive discussions which may or may not lead to a sale of its supply chain business.  A number of new contracts in Europe and Asia are in the process of being implemented and the unit has a good pipeline of new business opportunities.

Morrisons is making its first move into the home delivery market by acquiring Kiddicare (online baby products retailer).  Morrisons intends to build its online non-food business, developing the Kiddicare.com platform and management team, launching its products in 2012.

Molson Coors has acquired a 200,000 sqft warehouse in Marchington Industrial Estate (Staffordshire).

Simon Joslin has been appointed Director of Strategic Development in the UK & Ireland for Damco.

Hicks Logistics has won a £2.7 million contract with UK Platforms (platform hire and rental firm).

Gist has won a contract with Tulip (supplier of meat products) worth £50 million over 5 years.  Gist will provide Tulip with regional distribution of raw and finished pork products between factories and to final customer destinations including wholesalers and retailers.  The transport operation will focus primarily in the Midlands and East Anglia and involves the TUPE transfer into Gist of around 60 employees and the transfer of 20 vehicles into Gist's fleet.

Syncreon has acquired Compuspar.  Compuspar provides repair, warranty and reverse logistics solutions to the hi-tech industry.  The deal strengthens Syncreon's service offering in key target markets - USA, Poland and Brazil, expands mature markets served to include Spain, France and Italy and expands the company's technical service offering into new markets for Syncreon in China, Australia and Mexico.

Kuehne & Nagel has won a 4 year contract with Eni Norge.  Kuehne & Nagel will provide logistics services to Eni Norge for development, drilling and operational phases of two new offshore projects - Goliat & Marulk.

DB Schenker Logistics is setting up a new 63,000 sqm logistics centre in Northern Leipzig which will be operational by mid-2011.  The centre will supply components to automobile plants in China and South Africa.  The centre will collect around 8,000 different components, which will then be packed and stored in containers to match delivery requirements.  Around 50 containers will leave the Leipzig centre per day, most of them to be carried by ship to Rosslyn, South Africa and Shinyang, China and some transported by rail.

Abbott Laboratories has announced it is streamlining its UK supply chain route for pharmaceuticals, nutritionals and diabetes products from the 1st March 2011.  Abbott has selected 3 companies to partner with in a reduced wholesaler distribution model to hospitals pharmacies, community pharmacies and dispensing doctors in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

DHL Supply Chain has won a 3 year contract with Manchester United.  DHL Supply Chain will undertake a range of logistics services, B2B and consumer marketing activities and events across platforms including; digital advertising perimeter boards, matchday programmes, the club website and selected events at Old Trafford.

Clipper Logistics extends its contract with Liberty department store for the foreseeable future.

Gist renews its contract with British Airways for the management, supply and distribution of staff uniforms.  Gist manages stockholding and despatch of BA's inflight catering products, such as wines, china, cutlery, blankets and catering trolleys, fragrances, jewellery, watches and skincare products.  Also, customs management and product recycling.

RCS Logistics wins a 3 year contract with Ontex UK (nappies and sanitary towels) for the provision of warehousing, logistics and home delivery services.  Incoming bulk products from Ontex are stored in RCS' 16,500 sqft warehouse in Corby.  Once picked and packed, the products are loaded onto vans for home delivery.  Deliveries are provided to 4 types of end customer direct to an NHS patient's home, hospitals, care homes and doctors' surgeries.

Waitrose is to open a new 318,000 sqft distribution centre in Snelshall West, Milton Keynes for its grocery operation and this will be managed by Kuehne & Nagel.  Waitrose' Brinklow site will still remain but will now concentrate on fresh foods.

Norbert Dentressangle's takeover of TDG has been delayed until mid-March after the European Commission calls for more information on the deal.

DHL Supply Chain has won a 2 year contract with Bridgestone Tyres in Jonkoping, Sweden.  The contract covers value added services such as assembly of tyres, as well as warehousing tyres for cars, motorcycles, trucks and agriculture machinery at its 150,000sqft site.

Bibby Distribution has won a contract extension with Honda for the next 5 years.  Bibby Distribution is the UK sole distributor for Honda's motorcylces and power equipment across the UK mainland.  Bibby offers a nominated next day delivery service operated from Honda's warehouse in Swindon in conjunction with a dedicated fleet of 26 tonne rigid vehicles and drawbar trailers.  Further vehicles and drivers are deployed in Lancashire and Glasgow to serve Northern dealerships in the UK.

Lloyd Fraser has won a 5 year contract with Milk Link.  Based in Milborne St Andrew, Dorset, Lloyd Fraser will be responsible for farm collections and onward deliveries to Milk Link's and a variety of customer facilities in Southern England 365 days per year.

Waitrose has awarded JF Hillebrand a 3 year contract to manage all its wine imports.

Norbert Dentressangle has won a contract with Stokvis Tapes.  The contract is for the distribution of adhesive products using Norbert Dentressangle's national shead-user pallet network.

TDG has won a 2 year extension to its existing contract with Premdor UK.  Full loads leave its Barnsley manufacturing site nightly and are taken by road to TDG depots at Mossend, Swindon and Thurrock for cross-docking.  These are then delivered to construction sites, builders merchants or the end-user.

Wincanton has renewed its contract with Mattel for a further 6 years worth £24 million.  Wincanton is the sole UK logistics provider operating from its Corby distribution centre.  It will deliver co-packing for Mattel goods and then manage deliveries to retailers.
