Fiege has won an e-commerce contract with Media-Saturn Holding GmbH (electrical & electronics products) across Austria and the Netherlands and may possibly extend across europe.  Fiege will handle all supply chain activities including bringing in goods, storage, preparation for despatch (including value-added activities), picking of goods for the end consumer and despatch. 

Mcdonald's is to open a distribution centre in the Russian Rostov region in 2011 according to a local press report.  The facility will serve the Russian southern branch of the chain (11 restaurants).

Gregory Distribution is merging its Scottish operation with Hayton Coulthard to create a joint venture called Hayton Coulthard Transport ltd and will take effect from 1st February 2010.

DHL Supply Chain  has secured a new 36,500 sqm purpose built warehouse in Bornem, nr Brussels from Autumn 2010.

Cert Octavian has won a 3 year (with an option to extend for a further 2 years), £30 million contract with Foster's EMEA.  The contract is for the distribution of products across EMEA from Cert Octavian's hub in Lutterworth.

Rhenus Logistics has won a contract with Spanish milk producer Sialsa to help store, load and unload its dairy products.

BLG's vehicle transportation division has won a contract with Mitsubishi Europe.  The contract is for the distribution of all vehicles from the Dutch production plant in Born to German dealers' network and shipped to the Norwegian market via the BLG automotive terminal in Bremerhaven.

DB Schenker is rolling out its 'Go for Growth' 4 year programme to grow its contract logistics business.  The company is investing in its logistics solutions and industrial processes and expanding its worldwide business activities.  It is focusing on the Automotive, Consumer, Electronics industries in the USA, Germany and China.

NYK Logistics has won a contract with Ranbaxy Laboratories (part of Daiichi-Sankyo Group).  The contract is for handling all products destined for the UK market.  The operation is based at NYK Logistic's 175,000 sqft temperature-controlled pharmaceutical warehouse in Northampton. 

Norbert Dentressangle opens a facility in Madrid to accomodate 30% growth in volumes in its Spanish distribution network.

Keuhne & Nagel wins a contract with BMW at its production site at Leipzig.  Keuhne & Nagel is responsible for the entire supply chain  for the final assembly of BMW automotive products for the 1st January 2010.  Kuehne & Nagel will receive, store, sequence, build sets and deliver to the production line.  It will also be responsible for the supply of returned empty containers and for the execution of pre-assembly operations.

Nestle and Mars is trialling the sharing of trucks to deliver combined loads of confectionery.

City Link has won a £750,000 p.a. distribution contract with Williams Medical Supplies.

TDG has gained ISO14001 accreditation at its Mossend site in Scotland.

Seafield Logistics has extended its contract with Sibelco UK (sand supplier).  The 3 year contract is for the management of the distribution of sand from the company's UK quarries operated by Sibelco to customers throughout the UK.  It will also take over the full management of all sub-contractor operations at the 10 sites.

TDG BV has won a 4 year shared-user contract with UPC Nederland (Cable operator).  TDG will manage UPC's supply chain, from full warehousing services including kitting and order handling, through both inbound and reverse logistics, to returns handling, product sortation, other value-add services and customer deliveries.

Ceva Logistics has won a 1 year contract with Italia independent (spectacle brand) which is part of the LA Company.  The contract is for warehousing and distribution in Italy.  Ceva Logistics will offer a tailored support for the company's growth as well as assisting in the development of complex activities over the product categories that LA covers.  The contract is based at Ceva Logistics site in Scarmagno, Turin.

Ceva Logistics has renewed its contract with Philips for a further 3 years.  The contract is for the management of inbound and outbound goods, shared-user warehousing at Zingonia and distribution in Italy.

ID Logistics has won a contract with the Cortefiel Group (Spanish Fashion Retailer).  The contract is run from an international distribution centre in Arajuez, Madrid and is for the management of the central distribution centre and serving all points of sale the group has worldwide.

Nightfreight has won a 2 year contract with PHS Direct.  The contract is for the collection of goods from PHS's distribution centre in Staffordshire and transporting them to its own national hub in Willenhall, sending them onward across its 50 UK depots. 

iForce has gone live with its e-fulfillment service for Habitat distributing orders to the UK and France.  The Cross border e-fulfillment operation is run from iforce's 63,000 sqft warehouse at Bromford Gate, Birmingham.  iForce stocks home accessories skus replenished by Habitat's warehouse in Wallingford.  Also, the provision of return processing for UK orders.  While Habitat handles French returns at the company's local warehouse in Cergy, France, iForce will fulfill the replacement items where requested.  Sitel (iForce's partner) will provide multilingual customer services for both telephone and email enquiries from the call centre in Stratford-upon-Avon.

DHL Supply Chain has extended its £4.3 million contract with Tie Rack until 2012 covering Tie Rack and Rolling luggage brands.  The contract is run from the Hams Hall shared-user site.  DHL Supply Chain manages a full range of services, including inbound freight from suppliers in India and China as well as cross docking, pick and pack, despatch and returns handling.  DHL Supply Chain's specialist fashion unit will continue to run all international inbound freight and warehouse operations serving 197 Tie Rack and 40 Rolling Luggage stores in the UK, Europe and the US.  The contract includes DHL Supply Chain's consolidation centre based in Hong Kong.  Tie Rack can ship products sourced in Asia direct to the Hong Kong warehouse where they are picked, packed and despatched to over 50 stores and franchisees across Australia.

City Link wins a contract with Triton.  The contract is worth £150,000 per year and will include the national distribution of parcels and the delivery of extended warranty mailings.

Ceva Logistics has extended its contract with Toshiba Medical Systems Europe.  Ceva Logistics carries out the contract from its 50,000 sqft shared-user site in Eindhoven.  The services include; inbound and outbound of commercial items and spare parts, value-added services and reverse logistics.

RH Freight is introducing 2 daily services between the UK and Lithuania and Latvia.

Ceva Logistics has won a 5 year contract with the Telegraph Media Group for the management of its UK distribution and a 3 year contract with the Express and Sport newspaper groups. 

TDG has won a 5 year £60 million contract with Weetabix.  The contract is for the management of Weetabix's 350,000 sqft warehouse operations at Burton Latimer and movements between the manufacturing sites at Corby and Ashton.  Also, TDG will manage the inbound and outbound transportation of its products.

Kuehne & Nagel has won a contract with Premium Aircraft Interiors Group (PAI).  PAI has outsourced its air, road (domestic and international) and sea freight logistics operations.

Clipper Logistics has won a contract with Americana International.  Clipper Logistics will run its UK warehouse at Worseley and its transport operations. 

Home Delivery Network has won a contract with Asda-Walmart to deliver non-food to homes.  Also, it will deliver to stores on a daily basis.

Home Delivery Network has renewed its contract with Home Retail Group.

NYK Logistics has renewed its contract with Yamaha Music UK.  NYK Logistics is operating its NDC handling musical instruments and AV equipment.  NYK Logistics is responsible for the despatch of the company's full range of instruments, ranging from piccolos to grand pianos as well as specialist equipment such as PA systems and mixing desks.  NYK Logistics receives orders by EDI, with small items despatched by nominated parcel carrier.  Dedicated vehicles deliver upright and grand pianos, which are transported on protective shoes then reassembled at dealers by trained delivery crews.  NYK Logistics reworks various mass market products and handles promotions and exhibitions as well as direct deliveries to schools across the UK.
